i heart spring.

Tatum, of Goldsboro, N.C., looks mildly disappointed after she misses the hole for the seventh time at All-Stars Family Fun Center on the first day of spring. (Taken as a feature picture for my photojournalism class)

I love spring; the colors, the temperatures, the smells (except for the Bradford pears), the stormy skies, and the Cadbury mini eggs. But, I LOATHE the pollen...just sayin'. The pollen is at its highest density in North Carolina since 2003. With 90-degree temperatures in April and a think yellow haze in the atmosphere, I feel like I live in Los Angeles. Tatum's face is how I feel about the pollen right now. Thankfully I have Flonase, Singular & Claritin on my side!

The Essentials.

Here's a quick recap of how spring semester 2010 has been going: class, the NU bus, Missy McLamb Photographers, The Daily Tar Heel, interviews, coffee, Cadbury Mini Eggs, and a 50 mm f/1.4  manual lens.

Here's a quick recap of some shots for class:

This was for my "composition" assignment. This displaced garage band moved inside to practice on a January Saturday night.

This was for my "light" assignment. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, a father pushes his daughter into the clouds at Herman Park.

This was for my "moment" assignment. Baby Annabelle squeezes her mom's finger as she eats grape jelly for the first time at a post-mass Sunday brunch.
